Here’s a quick video to demonstrate one of the new products I’ve been working on for some time. Her name is “TIA”. She is my “Tactical Intelligence Assistant”.

It is my design for a mobile (wireless) FPV Ground Station, security, monitoring and home automation system. Particularly geared towards the RC / FPV market amongst others.

As well as being a mobile home automation system, this will also be controlling my FPV Antenna Tracker that I built for Long Range FPV. This device will control the servos wirelessly while giving me warnings about various telemetry & sensor based alarms See the FPV Antenna Tracker Design here:

This video is just to demonstrate the Voice Synthesis part of the software at the moment. TIA’s voice is controlled by the breadboard circuit on the right hand side. I’m using a Teensy 3.2 as the primary CPU. This is a dedicated CPU for the voice. The main system that controls the TFT Touch screen is running from a completely independent ‘Primary’ CPU (Teensy 3.6).

The audio is generated as MP3 files that are stored on a removable SD card. TIA plays each MP3 file in sequence to create commands, warnings, sensor reports, and even to make phone calls! The audio system uses the vs1053b IC. I will upload many more videos that will go through all of the elements in more detail, but for the time being I thought I’d share this with you guys and see what you think.

If you’re interested in seeing how I go about prototyping my circuits, here’s a video of me making an earlier version of my RC / FPV Ground Station https://youtu.be/wmS-4Quj1b0
